Harlem Turks

Originally we were called the King Falcons[1969-1971] and more of a club than a "gang".We played basketball and football.Wasn't on the N.Y.C. street gang radar. But real streetgangs invaded our housing project chasing us inside our apartments or beating us down. We then switch our name to the Harlem Turks and began fighting back.We became quite infamous street gang rumblers.Chose the name Turks after the great Ottoman Turk Empire.

The president of the Harlem Turk was originally Broadway Joe. Broadway Joe then flipped the Hill Boys chapter or the Harlem Turks into his own gang, no longer being park of the Turks. And he then became arch rival of the Harlem Turks months prior to the Peace Treaty.

Harlem Turks Turf

At its peak, the Harlem turks had three male and one female divisions, approximately thirty five members. It decreased to two divisions and one chapter, and finally to just one division with only a half dozen guys. The female division was called the Turkettes. They claimed 125th street between old Broadway and St. Nicole’s Avenue as their main turf/territory in Harlem. The Harlem Turks disbanded in around 1974.

Third World

The third world was more politically orientated than street out laws, although flew colors once and a while. They were responsible for brokering the Harlem Peace Treaty.
